Bird watching

The World Biosphere Reserve of the Yasuni National Park is a birding paradise, among the most important biospheres in the world it protects the largest biodiversity of species in the primary rainforests of the Ecuadorian Amazon. These tropical rainforests contain over 550 species of birds, plus approximately 4000 species of plants and at least 204 species of mammals, including 13 primates, and over 382 species of fish.

Each year a count of bird species is conducted to analyze the actual state of each species according to area and climate. Last year nearly 3000 individuals of 324 species were registered. These species include toucans, parrots, tangaras, guacamayos and much more.

Due to its location inside the Yasuni National Park, Mandari Panga is an exceptional place for birdwatchers. We can arrange a specialized tour with an experienced birding guide for those interested in birdwatching, just let us know if you’re interested and we’ll send you additional details.
